Description
Mosquitoes may be small and have short lifespans, but they can wreak havoc on human lives. Mosquitoes, like may insects, rely on nectar as their main source of food. However, it is the female mosquito's additional desire for blood. They involve in the transmission of viral disease ( dengue, Zika and chikumgunya) and currently there are no preventative medicines available for these viruses and so avoiding mosquito bites is the only way to prevent infection. Only female mosquitoes bites humans! Mosquitoes can develop from egg to adult in 10 to 14 days. Mosquitoes are busiest at night and will fly up to 14 miles for a blood meal. They hunt for food by detecting body heat and Carbon Dioxide, the gas we breathe out.
